365 project // Friday Favorites

(Posted August 26 2011)

1. Finally getting my 365 project blog going! I'm so excited to do this throughout the next year! Should be exciting and fun and hopefully I'll learn more about how to take great photos. (:
Check my my photos at: Chasing Pavements OR on my Flikr page.

2. While look at Yahoo's photos of the week. I discovered Stephen Wilkes. His photography is amazing! I'm pretty sure I've heard his name before... but anyway. His day and night pictures are awesome and I'd really like it if the library got his book "Ellis Island: Ghosts of freedom" because I sure would like to look at it!

3. Finally starting the "hunger games" its a pretty good book so far!

4. I will always laugh at the fact that half the pins I pin on pinerest, are Harry Potter related. But hey, Megan is worse than I am! (:

Have a wonderful friday everyone!

Last Bits of Summer

(Posted August 24 2011)

My wonderful summer was finished off by a day at the Iowa State Fair. Going to the state fair is probably one of my favorite things about summer. As long as its

Not raining

and not blistering hot

which fortunately this year, it was neither.

It was a day filled with music, friends, walking, food, walking, looking at fair projects and MORE walking. My legs hurt so bad by the end of the day I was ready to just go home and sleep for a long time! Something about the fair just seems to where you out... I'm not sure why, because its loads of fun! Its just... really tiring for some reason.

So with that lovely day, I said goodbye to summer.

My Dearest Summer

(Posted August 16 2011)

My dearest summer. Where have you gone?
The carefree days,
The lazy days,
The camp days,
Where have you taken them?
My dearest summer. Why must you leave so early?
Its too soon for you to pack your bags.
Can't you stay a while longer?
Don't hit the road just yet.
You know you'll be missed.
You brought so much fun,
Joy
and Friendship.
You brought birthdays,
and laughter,
movie premieres,
and rodeos.
You brought warm sunshine,
so sprinklers could be used.
My dearest summer.
Don't go just yet.
We'll miss you so.
Notebooks are being bought.
Pencils are being sharpen,
but that doesn't mean you have to go.
My dearest summer.
Don't stay way to long.
Come back and warm our faces,
with the glow of carefree fun.
My dearest summer. Please hurry back soon.

The Big One-Eight

Okay, so maybe its not that big, last Friday, I crossed the line from 17, to 18.

I asked my mom what my rights were as an eighteen year old, and all she said was that I could vote.
Yay?

Anyway, last Tuesday, I spent the day with my friends celebrating my birthday, and let me tell you it was loads of fun.

Oh lets just... freak out.

18. Your gonna be a great year.
